BHĀRATĀYANA is committed to maintaining a transparent, efficient, fair, and ethically responsible editorial process. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the journal's editorial policies before submitting their manuscripts. Careful adherence to the submission requirements helps ensure timely editorial evaluation and peer review.

Submission of a manuscript signifies that all authors have read and agreed to the journal's Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics, Human–AI Collaboration Policy, and other relevant editorial policies.

Before You Submit

Prior to submission, authors should ensure that:

• The manuscript falls within the journal's scope.

• The work is original and unpublished.

• The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.

• All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.

• The manuscript has been prepared using the journal's recommended formatting requirements.

• All references are complete and accurately cited.

• Ethical approvals have been obtained where required.

• Any use of Artificial Intelligence has been appropriately disclosed.

• Funding sources and potential conflicts of interest have been declared.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the manuscript being returned before peer review.

Required Submission Documents

Authors should submit the following documents:

1. Manuscript File

The complete manuscript prepared according to the official BHĀRATĀYANA Manuscript Template.

2. Cover Letter

A cover letter should briefly include:

• Title of the manuscript

• Type of submission

• Statement confirming originality

• Confirmation that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere

• Corresponding author's contact details

3. Author Information

Provide:

• Full Name

• Institutional Affiliation

• Department

• City and Country

• ORCID iD (recommended)

• Official Email Address

4. Declarations

Where applicable, include:

• Funding Statement

• Conflict of Interest Statement

• Human–AI Collaboration Disclosure

• Ethical Approval Statement

• Data Availability Statement

How to Submit

At present, manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's official submission channel.

Please submit all required files in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format together with any supplementary materials.

Authors should ensure that all submission files are complete before submission.

Initial Editorial Screening

After submission, every manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine whether it:

• falls within the journal's scope;

• satisfies formatting requirements;

• complies with publication ethics;

• demonstrates sufficient scholarly quality for peer review.

Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for technical revision or declined without external review.

Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to independent expert reviewers through the journal's double-anonymous peer-review process.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

• originality;

• academic significance;

• methodological rigor;

• clarity of presentation;

• quality of analysis;

• contribution to Indian Knowledge Systems;

• interdisciplinary relevance.

Editorial Decision

Following peer review, the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board where appropriate, may issue one of the following decisions:

• Accept

• Accept with Minor Revisions

• Major Revisions Required

• Reject

Editorial decisions are final and are made solely on scholarly merit, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal.

Revision Process

When revisions are requested, authors should:

• respond carefully to each reviewer comment;

• submit a revised manuscript;

• provide a detailed response explaining how each comment has been addressed.

Failure to submit revisions within the specified period may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from editorial consideration.

Acceptance and Production

Once a manuscript is accepted:

• the final version undergoes editorial copyediting;

• formatting and proofreading are completed;

• authors may be asked to review page proofs;

• the article is prepared for publication in the forthcoming issue.

Only minor typographical corrections are normally permitted at the proof stage.

Publication Ethics

Throughout the submission and publication process, authors are expected to comply fully with the journal's ethical standards.

Any evidence of plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation, citation manipulation, or other forms of research misconduct may result in immediate rejection or subsequent retraction of the published article.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents.

Editorial Board members, reviewers, and editorial staff will not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts except as necessary for editorial evaluation and publication.

Withdrawal of Submission

Authors wishing to withdraw a manuscript before publication should submit a written request to the Editorial Office explaining the reason for withdrawal.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to decline withdrawal requests where substantial editorial or peer-review resources have already been invested.

Article Processing Charges

Currently,

BHĀRATĀYANA does not charge any submission fee, article processing charge (APC), publication fee, or access fee.

Publication decisions are based exclusively on academic quality, originality, and ethical compliance.
