The Editorial Board of BHĀRATĀYANA warmly invites scholars, researchers, academicians, practitioners, and emerging researchers from around the world to submit original, high-quality, and interdisciplinary manuscripts that contribute to the advancement, preservation, critical interpretation, and contemporary application of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).

BHĀRATĀYANA is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to promoting rigorous scholarship, academic integrity, responsible innovation, and meaningful dialogue across disciplines. The journal encourages intellectually rich research rooted in India's diverse knowledge traditions while engaging constructively with contemporary global challenges and ethically guided human–AI collaboration.

Submission of a manuscript implies that all authors have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Author Guidelines, the journal's Publication Ethics, Human–AI Collaboration Policy, and all related editorial policies.

1. Aim and Scope

BHĀRATĀYANA publishes original and interdisciplinary scholarship related to Indian Knowledge Systems, including—but not limited to—the following areas:

• Indian Philosophy and Darśana

• Vedic and Upanishadic Studies

• Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh Studies

• Sanskrit Language and Literature

• Indigenous and Traditional Knowledge Systems

• Yoga and Consciousness Studies

• Ayurveda and Traditional Health Systems

• Indian Science, Mathematics, Astronomy, and Technology

• Ethics and Applied Philosophy

Manuscripts falling outside the journal's scope may be declined without external peer review.

3. Originality and Exclusive Submission

Authors must ensure that:

• the manuscript is original;

• it has not been previously published in any language;

• it is not simultaneously submitted elsewhere;

• all sources have been properly acknowledged;

• all co-authors have approved the submission.

Duplicate submission, redundant publication, plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, and any other form of publication misconduct are strictly prohibited.

4. Language of Submission

BHĀRATĀYANA accepts manuscripts in:

• English

• বাংলা (Bengali)

• हिन्दी (Hindi)

• संस्कृतम् (Sanskrit)

Authors are responsible for ensuring linguistic accuracy, clarity, and academic quality.

5. Manuscript Preparation

Every manuscript should normally include:

• Title

• Author Name(s)

• Institutional Affiliation

• ORCID (recommended)

• Email Address

• Country

• Abstract (150–250 words)

• 4–8 Keywords

• Introduction

• Literature Review (where appropriate)

• Research Methodology

• Analysis and Discussion

• Findings

• Conclusion

• Funding Statement (if applicable)

• Conflict of Interest Statement

• Acknowledgements (optional)

• References

The structure may vary according to disciplinary conventions.

6. Formatting Requirements

• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

• Paper Size: A4

• Margins: 1 inch

• Line Spacing: 1.5

• Page Numbering: Required

Recommended Fonts:

• English: Times New Roman (12 pt)

• Bengali: Noto Serif Bengali (12 pt)

• Hindi/Sanskrit: Mangal (12 pt)

Authors should use the official manuscript template whenever possible.

7. Citation and Referencing

Unless otherwise announced, BHĀRATĀYANA follows the latest edition of the APA Style.

Authors are responsible for ensuring:

• complete references;

• accurate citations;

• consistency throughout the manuscript.

Every citation in the text must appear in the reference list.

8. Research Integrity

The journal is committed to the highest standards of research integrity.

The following practices are strictly prohibited:

• Plagiarism

• Self-plagiarism

• Duplicate publication

• Fabrication of data

• Falsification of results

• Image manipulation

• Citation manipulation

• Paper mill submissions

• Ghost authorship

• Gift authorship

Any violation may result in rejection, retraction, or notification to the author's institution.

9. Human–AI Collaboration

BHĀRATĀYANA supports the responsible and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence in scholarly research.

AI tools may be used for:

• language editing;

• grammar improvement;

• formatting assistance;

• data organization.

However,

• AI tools cannot be listed as authors;

• authors remain fully responsible for all submitted content;

• significant AI assistance must be disclosed appropriately.

Failure to disclose substantial AI assistance may lead to editorial action.

10. SDG Alignment

Authors are encouraged to include a brief SDG Alignment Statement (50–100 words) explaining how the research contributes to one or more United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

11. Ethical Responsibilities

Authors must:

• maintain academic honesty;

• disclose conflicts of interest;

• acknowledge funding;

• obtain permissions for copyrighted materials;

• comply with applicable ethical standards.

12. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research.

If no conflict exists, authors should state:

"The author(s) declare no conflict of interest."

13. Funding Statement

All funding sources should be acknowledged.

If no funding has been received, authors should state:

"This research received no specific grant from any funding agency."

14. Open Access Policy

BHĀRATĀYANA is an open-access journal.

All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access fees, promoting the widest possible dissemination of scholarly knowledge.

15. Article Processing Charges

At present,

BHĀRATĀYANA does not charge any submission fee, article processing charge (APC), publication fee, or access fee.

Any future changes will be announced through the journal website.

16. Peer Review

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening.

Suitable manuscripts are then evaluated through a rigorous double-anonymous peer-review process.

Editorial decisions include:

• Accept

• Minor Revision

• Major Revision

• Reject

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision.

17. Copyright

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted materials.

18. Submission Checklist

Before submission, authors should confirm that:

• ✓ it falls within the journal's scope;

• ✓ formatting requirements have been followed;

• ✓ the abstract and keywords are included;

• ✓ AI use has been disclosed where applicable;

• ✓ all author information is accurate;

19. Editorial Rights

The Editorial Board reserves the right to:

• reject unsuitable submissions;

• request revisions;

• edit language and formatting;

• withdraw manuscripts from consideration;

• retract published articles in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics.
